Hold the card in frame and CardVault auto-detects the edges and captures it — no perfect aim required.
New here?
Point your camera at a business card and CardVault reads the name, company, title, phone, email and address — turning a messy pile into a clean, searchable contact list. Every card is processed on your device, so your data never leaves your iPhone.
Capturing a card takes one tap. CardVault frames the card with automatic edge detection, then on-device OCR (optical character recognition) reads the text and sorts it into the right fields. There's no server, no upload — recognition happens on your iPhone, even in airplane mode.

Name, company, title, phone, email, website and address, extracted and sorted into clean fields.
CardVault recognizes Korean, English, Japanese and Chinese (Simplified and Traditional), and even reads small print and bilingual names. Hand it a card mixing a Latin name with Chinese characters and it handles both.
CardVault doesn't just dump text — it understands what each line is and files it accordingly. Emblem and logo detection help it tell the company name from the rest, so parsing stays accurate even on busy cards.
The full name, including bilingual 한글/漢字 pairs printed together on one card.
The organization name, guided by emblem and logo detection for better accuracy.
The role and department, kept separate from the name and company.
Detects several numbers on one card and prefers the mobile for one-tap calling.
Picks the address out cleanly, ready to tap into a new message.
The site and street address, ready to open in your browser or Maps.
For even sharper results, turn on an optional on-device AI model (Google Gemma). It works alongside OCR to understand the whole card in context and sort ambiguous lines correctly — and it runs entirely on your iPhone, so your data still never leaves the device.
OCR is great at turning pixels into text, but a card is more than text — it's a layout. The AI model reads that layout the way you would: it knows the big word up top is a name, the number after M is a mobile, and the two-line block at the bottom is an address.
It's optional and downloaded on demand. Leave it off for fast, lightweight scanning, or switch it on when you want the extra precision — either way, nothing about your card is uploaded.
Once a card is in, its details become live buttons. No copying, no retyping — just tap the way you want to reach out.
Dial the number straight from the card — the mobile first.
Open a new text to the number in one tap.
Start a message to the address without retyping it.
Open the company site in your browser.
Add the card to your Phone Contacts, fully filled in.
Share a card by text message with one swipe.
The more cards you collect, the more this matters. Star the ones that count, add tags to group them, and search across every field — name, company, even a tag — to surface the right person instantly.
Met someone important at a conference? Star them, tag them “conference”, and they're one filter away. Search runs across names, companies and tags at once, so a half-remembered detail is enough to find the card.
